Job Summary
TestPros is seeking a Senior Systems Architect (Cloud & Oracle Middleware) in the National Capital region for a federal contract.
This project is to provide operations, maintenance, and support for its Federal Financial Management System (FFMS) and the Office of Financial Management General Support Systems (OFM GSS), both hosted in AWS cloud environments
Work includes:
Infrastructure O&M: servers, VMs, middleware, databases, networks, and interfaces.
IV&V testing: independent validation of software changes and 508 compliance.
Support services: password management, BI reports/dashboards, integrated data services, and surge support.

Location: Onsite in the DC Metro area
Clearance: ICE/DHS suitability clearance
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the design, development, and operational oversight of cloud and virtualized environments, ensuring they meet business and technical objectives.
- Architect scalable, secure, and efficient systems using load balancer devices, Lambda functions, and containerization technologies to enhance system performance and availability.
- Provide expert-level guidance on Oracle Databases, Oracle Middleware, and Java/J2EE to ensure seamless integration and optimized business process orchestration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Airflow, and Liquibase.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, making strategic recommendations for architectural changes and new technology adoption to align with business goals.
- Lead research initiatives to assess the feasibility of new technologies, conducting proof-of-concept evaluations and overseeing the integration of successful solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, providing technical recommendations on system design and infrastructure to both technical and non-technical executive-level stakeholders.
- Architect and support financial system platforms, ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of systems in a regulated financial environment.
- Develop and maintain systems in both Windows and Linux environments, ensuring consistent deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting across both platforms.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience working as a Systems Architect responsible for development and operations of cloud and other virtualized environments
- At least 5 years of experience working with:
- Load balancer devices
- Lambda functions
- Containerizations
- Oracle Databases
- Oracle Middleware
- Java/J2E
- MS Office 365
- Previous experience and expertise evaluating technical trends and providing recommendations for technology and architecture to meet business objectives.
- Strong experience performing research on emerging technologies to support proof-of-concepts capabilities and assisting in implementing solutions
- Expertise in load balancer devices, Windows application servers, Java, and Oracle middleware to handle business process orchestration and automation/deployment tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Airflow, and Liquibase
- Expert knowledge in cloud service and/or other virtualized services.
- Technical ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical executive-level staff
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust Clearance
Preferred
- Previous DHS/ICE experience is preferred
- Experience in deploying and maintaining systems or services in a Windows and Linux
- environments.
- Experience in developing and deploying business intelligence reporting solutions.
- Expert in Oracle suite administration.
- Expertise in supporting financial system platforms as a Systems Architect
